Concealed Carry Permit (CCW)
Colorado sheriffs issue concealed carry permits to citizens who meet the statutory qualifications. Contact information for the various sheriff’s departments is here. Before you do that, you need a certificate certifying that you have demonstrated competence with a handgun. You may earn that certificate in our NRA basic handgun course or our Concealed Carry class will qualify Coloradans to apply for their carry permit.
However, people are not born knowing how to safely and effectively get their gun out of the holster to defend themselves. (Hint, it’s a lot harder than it looks on TV). They are not born knowing when they may use deadly force in self-defense and when they may not. So if you plan to carry outside your home for self-defense, it is important that you get training where you learn the skills necessary to do so without hurting yourself or innocent people or end up in jail. Straightforward Shooting’s Confident Carry™ workshop teaches those skills.
